Jo Jo Moore, A Career New York Giant and Last Surviving Member of the 1933 World Series.

Casey Stengel, manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1934 to 1936, once said of New York Giants left fielder Jo-Jo Moore: “Every time we play the Giants, Moore is robbing one of our hitters of an extra-base hit with a great catch,” “Every time I look up from the bench Moore is rounding second base or throwing out a runner at third or home. He’s a real Giant.”

Moore was the igniter that sparked the combustion infused within the Giants York Giants team from 1930 through to 1941. Known as the Thin Man and Gause Ghost for his slender build as well as the Central Texas town where he was born on Christmas Day in 1908.

Moore was the leadoff hitter that helped the Giants to win 3 National League pennants. He was a .298 career hitter and one of the top defensive outfielders of the era. Moore was 6X NL All-Star and a World Series Champion in 1933.

And speaking of the World Series, Moore was the last surviving member of the 1933 World Champion New York Giants.
